Growing up I wanted to be a marine biologist but I suffered from seasickness so change of plan required. Born and raised in Cumbria I was surrounded by animals so a vet became my next choice. I qualified for the Grammar School but due to my dad's job we had to move to Oxfordshire. I was a shy child and moving to another area posed some challenges with bullying. The whole experience broadened my perspective and after studying at Oxpens and Paddington Green Colleges I moved back to Cumbria.
After getting married I trained to be a nurse but have always been interested in nature and natural remedies. In 2011 I started my 3 year course in Homeopathy at Lakeland College which not only gave me my Homeopathy qualification but introduced me to a range of other holistic therapies. As part of my registration I have to undertake Continuing Professional Development annually and I really enjoy seeing what is new or looking how current ways of working can be altered to fit with our busy way of life.
Within my homeopathy practice I utilise a variety of flower essences and I am also a fully qualified Reiki 1 & 2 Master Practitioner
Modern medicine is very reliant on treating the symptom and not the cause. Our bodies are quite adept at repairing themselves if they have strength and vitality. I look at the person as a whole - not a symptom or condition. Looking at how the individual functions mentally, emotionally and physically helps to see what is required to enable the body's natural ability to make positive changes.
Homeopathic remedies are made from all the kingdoms in the natural world -plants, animals, minerals, metals and gases. Remedies are made by diluting and succussing the original substance so it harnesses the healing energy properties without side effects.
